Like a field bursting with exquisite blooms, sweetly contained in a small-but-elegant piece of art suitable for an office or home. The Italian word for the ancient technique practiced by Murano glass makers and used to make the paperweight is "millefiori." Translated, it couldn't be more spot on: It means "a thousand flowers." Making millefiori requires tremendous skill as the glass maker carefully fuses together a variety of rods in different sizes and colors, and then cuts them to reveal the intensely detailed flower-like designs. Who's going to be the lucky recipient? About 2"h x 2¾" diameter. Each paperweight is one-of-a-kind, varying in design.
