In 1971, young filmmaker set out to make a documentary about an annual Bluegrass festival held in rural North Carolina. He ended up capturing a pivotal moment in the history of American music—a 3-day celebration featuring both Bluegrass veterans and future stars alike, including Roy Acuff, Ralph Stanley, Earl Scruggs, Del McCoury, and a young Ricky Skaggs. 7 ½ hrs, 4 DVD/Blu-ray discs, plus 168 page coffee table book and a 2CD collection of songs from the festival.
