We owned a stretch of the American river property in my youth and my dad had hung one of these over the water so that on really hot valley days we could fish under the shade of that fig. minnow traps along the bank kept us in supply of shad fingerlings. My Mom said we had ruined it getting steal head juices all through it but to my brother, Dad and I thought it well seasoned. It lasted many years and stood up to mighty fights like being pulled out by a fish and abused by too many guys in it. We took it down in the fall and bloated used it camping in the sierra. I was sad the day we sold it in a garage sale but was reminded dont cry because its over, rejoice because it happened.
