Autumnal Jamawar Shawl
The art of jamawar weaving-multiple colors, intricate patterns-was brought to Kashmir from Persia hundreds of years ago. Kings and nobles bought the beautiful fabric by the yard ("war") to wear as wraps or robes ("jama"). Newly revived by the Indian government, jamawar weaving is being practiced once more. Woven in India of wool and viscose, this elegant shawl features a floral design, detailed border, and fringed ends. 27 ½" x 78 ¾". Dry-clean.
