Cameo Glass Forest Vase
Perfected by glassmakers in the late 1800s, the art of cameo glass is detailed and exacting. Different colors of glass are layered, then parts of the outer layers are carefully removed, leaving a raised pattern. Hand-polishing creates this dramatic design of black-and-gray trees on a cream ground; no colors are added. The tall column vase is highly decorative. 5" diameter, 19 ¾" high.
