M.C. Escher Silk Ties
Dutch artist M.C. Escher (1898-1972) often created "symmetry patterns" as preliminary studies for larger works. Inspired by Moorish mosaics he saw in Spain, they feature shapes, objects, and creatures in interlocking, repeating designs. The blue Birds Tie weaves three birds together in endless fight. Red, white, and blue Greyhounds Tie is row after row of well-behaved dogs. Each is pure silk, 3 ½" at widest point. Imported.
